Company Description Bodyloop Labs Private Limited is building India’s first non-enzymatic Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM), designed to be significantly more affordable, longer-lasting, and more accessible than current solutions. Incubated at IIT Ropar and founded in 2023, the company focuses on addressing the needs of over 100 million people living with diabetes in India by drastically reducing the cost of continuous monitoring. Bodyloop has a working integrated MVP, multiple patents filed, validated lab measurement cycles, and is developing a multi-biomarker platform using the same electrode.
Role Description The Research Scientist role at Bodyloop Labs is a full-time position based at IIT Ropar, Rupnagar, Punjab. The person in this role will design and conduct experiments related to non-enzymatic biosensors, analyze data from bench-top and in-vitro testing, and optimize sensor materials, fabrication processes, and device performance. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing laboratory work, maintaining research records, supporting patent drafting and IP documentation, and working closely with clinical and academic partners to translate lab results into robust, clinically relevant solutions.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in experimental design, wet-lab work, and data analysis in fields such as electrochemistry, materials science, bioengineering, or biomedical instrumentation.
- Candidates should possess skills in sensor development and characterization, including electrode fabrication, surface modification, and performance testing for biosensors or related medical devices.
- Candidates should possess skills in statistical analysis and quantitative modeling, using tools such as MATLAB, Python, R, or similar platforms to process and interpret experimental datasets.
- Candidates should possess skills in scientific writing, including preparing research reports, drafting manuscripts, and contributing to patent and technical documentation.
- Candidates should possess skills in cross-functional collaboration, working effectively with hardware, software, and clinical teams in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment.
- Master’s or PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field) is highly desirable.
