Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Fashion Designer role based at Foreshore Road, Howrah. The Fashion Designer will create seasonal collections, develop design concepts, and translate ideas into detailed sketches and technical specifications. Daily responsibilities include selecting fabrics and trims, collaborating with pattern makers and production staff, overseeing fittings, and refining garment silhouettes and construction details. The role also involves coordinating embroidery and surface design elements, monitoring quality during sample and bulk production, and aligning designs with brand aesthetics and market trends. The Fashion Designer will work closely with merchandising and management teams to ensure collections meet commercial, quality, and timeline requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong Fashion Design and Fashion skills, including concept development, sketching, and collection planning.
- Knowledge of Textiles, fabric properties, and material selection for various garment types.
- Experience with Embroidery and decorative techniques for enhancing garment aesthetics.
- Proficiency in Fitting, garment construction understanding, and the ability to refine patterns and silhouettes.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Fashion Design, Textiles, or a related field.
- Ability to collaborate with production, merchandising, and quality teams in an on-site environment.
- Attention to detail, strong sense of style, and awareness of current fashion trends in the local and broader market.
- Basic proficiency with design tools (manual or digital) and willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
