About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Actuarial Analyst to support its Foreign Reinsurance Branch operating as an IFSC Insurance Office (IIO). The role will focus on reinsurance underwriting, risk assessment, pricing, portfolio management, and regulatory compliance while supporting profitable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and underwrite facultative and treaty reinsurance risks in line with approved risk appetite and underwriting guidelines.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance pricing models, underwriting frameworks, and exposure management practices.
- Monitor portfolio performance, loss ratios, claims trends, premium adequacy, and profitability.
- Assess submissions, exposure data, claims history, and market information to determine pricing, terms, and capacity deployment.
- Collaborate with actuarial, finance, and risk management teams on pricing adequacy, reserving trends, and capital implications.
- Negotiate reinsurance contract terms, pricing, and coverage conditions with cedants and intermediaries.
- Monitor catastrophe exposures, concentration risks, and portfolio accumulations.
- Ensure compliance with IFSCA regulations, internal governance requirements, sanctions screening, AML obligations, and underwriting controls.
- Provide portfolio analytics, performance reports, and strategic insights to leadership.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, cedants, reinsurers, and other market participants.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Associate or Near Associate qualification from a recognized actuarial body (SOA, CAS, IFoA, CIA, IAI, or equivalent).
Experience
- 4-8 years of actuarial experience.
- Experience in reinsurance, underwriting, actuarial pricing, portfolio management, or risk analytics.
- Proven experience leading projects, processes, and/or teams.
- Strong understanding of treaty and facultative reinsurance.
- Exposure to pricing, reserving, profitability analysis, and risk management.
